  Not all of the apathy is aimed at homosexuals just because they are
homosexuals. Consider that in the case of Legionares(sp) disease, most
the prime targets of the disease were a relatively small and easily
identifiable group (which could NOT be said of gays). This makes things
a bit easier on the researcher.

  It should also be noted that it is not being gay which is the primary
risk factor in AIDS, it is the promiscuous lifestyle of homosexuals
which is the majour risk factor.  When the apparent 6-month ~ 1year
incubataion period is taken into account I can see that prostitutes,
their customers and other promiscuous hetrosexuals are likely to be the
next high-risk group.
