The only way to stop the oscillation (which would sometimes resonate and get *really* bad) was to hit the brakes *hard*. Fortunately, no one was tailgating me the several times I had to do it... The Seattle roadways are pretty crummy, and especially so in the right lanes, because of the higher percentage of trucks. After much driving in the area, I have a pretty good idea of where the largest pits are, and will move to the smoothest lane. This is often the left one, and it's such a pleasure to watch some Easterner whip around me on the right at 80, and fall into a hole.
