I do, however, hold something against tailgators! I consider them to be both stupid and dangerous. Tailgatoring has no defense. If the person ahead of you is not going fast enough, then give him room until you feel you are able to pass safely. The extra few feet will not make significant difference to your travel time unless he hits the brake, or an oncoming car. There is nothing worse when driving down the road at a nice, comfortable, 75mph than running into a 15 car CARAVAN of crocodiles sticking to close together to let you play leap-frog. IF you don't feel like passing RIGHT NOW then BACK OFF and give the speed-demon behind you the right to pass (the extra distance also allows you to get a running start when you really DO start to pass).
