This is one I've thought about a lot. Let me disgress for a moment... Q: How many New Yorkers does it take to change a light-bulb? A: Thirty-nine. One to scream for help, and thirty-eight to stand by and do nothing. This is certainly an example of pacifism. Ethically, it leaves something to be desired. The Hitlers of the world must be stopped. Yes, I would have fought in World War II. Yes, there is self-defense. Yes, there is coming to aid of others. If we are talking in absolutes, then I am not a pacifist, since there are situations in which I would fight.
