Wow... You've been in that situation? And he killed you? Just how do you know that for a fact? And in every conceivable set of circumstances you *know* that you wouldn't kill. A quote from OUR fortune file: I wish I could be as sure about anything as some people are about everything. The revelations continued: > "And forcing people to be in that military, even in a non-combat > role, if they have a moral obligation against killing is unjust, > unfair, and down-right unkind." You aren't forced to be in that military. You *always* have the option of renouncing your citizenship and going wherever you so choose. Few things are free, buster. Your citizenship and protection from all those nasty people out there isn't one of them. To drag out a rather tired argument, it only takes one to make a war. Hitler deciding to destroy most of western Europe did not require the draft/registration/permission of England's youth. More, more, more! > "Why don't you people grow up." I don't know about you, but I've always felt that part of maturity was the ability to face reality; to not get lost in fantasies about the way it *should* be. I will agree with you on the feminist and teenage issues: Women should register. They should also be used in combat. They make *better* (read that again folks) BETTER fighter pilots than men. (Check the stats on reaction time and the effect that a wider pelvic structure has on your ability to handle G-forces.) There is *no* reason why women can't fight. On the ground, no way. (If I need a grenade to go 30m and it goes 25m, apologies don't help.) In the sky, on the ships/submarines (where they would use less supplies, air, and would be less susceptible to claustrophobic reactions) absolutely! Yes, 'nuff said. As far as I'm concerned, too much said. Keith ...![ allegra, seismo, mcnc, we13 ]!rlgvax!keith
