Their attitude towards pedestrians is wonderful; what a joy to know that you will be treated like a person and not a stray cow if you try to cross the street. Nonetheless, if you cross a street illegally in CA (which means not in a crosswalk when within 50(?) feet of a crosswalk) you will be ticketed. It has happened several times to my friends. It is a hardship on out-of- staters, but probably a good policy anyway. Scott Turner
