the california law does not require you to drive faster then the basic
speed limit (posted limit or conditions limit, which ever is less) when you
have  5 cars behind you.  do you think that the 5 car law applies to LA freeways
where cars are always bumper to bumper?  gee wiz, everyone would have to pull
over there.  no the 5 car limit applies to autos which for some reason (say
lack of power up a hill, or large load such as trucks) can not go the
basic speed limit.

i dont like truckers who tailgate to try to get me to go faster.  now i dont
drive in the fast lane, and if there are more than 2 lanes i dont drive to
the right (trucks are restricted to the right lane in places, what thel feel is
their fast lane) and i normally go 58-60!  when i am on a road where there is
little traffic and i see a truck comming up, i will move to another lane so that
the truck can pass without lane changeing.  but when i am in heavy traffic, i
will NOT endanger my life by lane changes and break the law just so that someone
else can too.  i try to be nice to law breakers, but there is a limit.
