Those *SSH*L*S that call up and want to sell me aluminum siding(for a
brick home) in the middle of a meal, or when I'm sitting on the john or
taking a bath (excuse the french) PISS ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Junk Mail I LOVE!!!  It absorbs all the liquids at the bottom of my
kitchen trash bags.  

Solicitors at the door don't bother me so much.  I have a sign that
says that:

		|		   |
		|  NO SOLICITING!  |
		|		   |
		|  Survivors will  |
		|		   |
		|  be PROSECUTED!  |
		|__________________|

  Of course there will always be that brave soul that ventures to knock, but
then I have two options.  Look out a window..realize that I DON'T want to
talk with that person..and NOT ANSWER!  The second option is to open the
door, and when they start with the sales pitch/survey/... BLAST THEM.. for
ignoring the sign and invading my privacy.  Also in most states that I know
of, I you have a sign that says "No Solicitors" in plain view, then you can
have the offender arrested.

  With the telephone I have no such options.  It could be Readers Digest
calling, letting me know I just won $250,000.00 !!!  It could be the police,
letting me know that my girlfriend has just been run over by a truck.  I could
be my girlfriend calling me up to let me know that she was almost hit by a 
truck.. and that she has realized just how much she does love me.  I NEED
my phone.. but it is a PERSONAL phone.

When solicitors call me up I ask for their name, their supervisors name, the
name of the company and the phone numbers of each of the offending parties.
Most times they will either hang up quickly, or blast out at ME because I don't
want to listen to their spiel !!!  If I should ever get heated..they hang up
on me.. and in one case proceded to call me up 5 times, only to hang up on
me again.

(I know I probably going to catch it from laura & tim...but)
I FAVOR LEGISLATION PROHIBITING TELEPHONE SOLICITATIONS!!!
