In any case, I think that there is several differences between the twits in net.suicide and the argument here. The first is that this IS net.flame. It's suposed to be unreasonable, emotional, what have you. The second is that there is a big difference betwen irony and sadistic behaviour , and there is/was quite a bit of ironic content in the submissions that I was posting. Most of the irony was indirect in that I deliberately used the same style/class of argument (i.e. emotional, insulting, etc) to arguwith a person that they used, perhaps inadvertantly, in their original article. Since a lot of people apparantly base their arguments on what hurts THEM, I seem to have hit a nerve. Third, I damn well do, as you ("you" not addressed to any one person) may have figured out, understand that I'm using the tactics I'm bitching about. Since you don't like it when I do, consider how I feel when you use those tactics! If this were net.politics (and I wasn't particularly (sp) annoyed at a truely misleading posting that I thought needed parodied) I would be arguing against the argument tactics in a more reasonable tone of voice. Have a flaming day, all. /* THIS IS NET.FLAME, not NET.politenessman*/ I apologize for posting a non-flame in this newsgroup.
