San Diego, CS Dept Lines: 12 Of course they return the paper - if you'll look, you'll notice that every one of your cleared checks has a statement on the back (or wherever the clearing house marked it) that says "Do Not Wire Non-Payment" - i.e., we want the check back, don't send us a telegram (or some other kind of message) instead." Its probably cheaper than a registered telegram or whatever the requirement was to use if that statement didn't appear. You think they do it cause its faster?
