San Diego, CS Dept Lines: 21 Yes, I know, another one. Gawd. In California, it is (I'm told), trespassing to enter someone's premises for the purpose of sales or solicitation if a "no solicitors" sign is posted and you are univited. Perhaps something like this can be done - a special listing in the phone book (have them list your address as "no solicitors" or something). One strategy is (as practised by one of my former employers) is to simply go ahead and order whatever it is that they are selling COD, and then to refuse delivery and payment. I'm sure it costs them a lot. Perhaps this is the way to hit them in the wallet - the only place where it hurts enought to matter. He claims that the sale is an invalid contract, and can't be enforced. I'm not sure of the legal basis for what he's doing - I'm wary of doing it myself. But those solicitations sure are annoying! -- Brian Kantor, UCSD. {philabs, ucbvax} !sdcsvax!brian sdcsvax!brian@nosc
