San Diego, CS Dept Lines: 19 Since I now (no choice in the matter) OWN my phone.... what you need is to install a switch. I bought one, and now, when I don't want the phone to ring, it doesn't. I understand you can buy something like this from Radio Shack for a couple of dollars, but a 49 cent switch and 1/2 hour of work has sure saved me a lot of hours of sleep! P.S. On the other side of the phone, I put in a neon lamp that flickers when the bell rings - whether the switch is on or not. That way, I'll usually see it if someone calls, without being blown out of my chair by the ringer.
