Obviously, the concepts of hit points, armor class, and experience levels are the same, and many (all?) of the monsters occur in both games. However, are weapons the same? That is, does a mace in rogue do the same damage (1d6, I think) as a mace in D&D? Do monsters have the same number of hit dice in the two games? These questions come to mind since in my current game, I have both a +2,+4 mace and a two handed sword. If they were D&D weapons, I believe I could readily determine which one is better; however, in rogue I don't know. (The mace also brings up the question of what exactly +2,+4 means: +2 levels to hit and +4 points of damage)? If this type of information is supposed to be "secret", I apologize for asking, and this submission should be ignored. (If this is the case, I'm surprised that weapons are given +1,+1 and the like, because that information doesn't seem to valuable in comparing anything but two weapons of the same type unless something is known about the power of the weapons). Answers, if any, may be mailed to me. Thanx. Frank Fite Bell Labs, Holmdel ihnp4!houxa!fdf
