I thought that when he was first starting out, it was reported that Manilow
wrote all those jingles, but after he got established, he admitted that he
didn't (just performed on some of them).

Some more mangled lyrics:

   McDonalds was our kind of place
   Until we burned it down.
   We burned it to the ground,
   We even burned the clown.
   McDonalds was our kind of place
   It's now a parking space
   McDonalds was our kind of place.

(When I was an undergrad, I heard a really rude parody of the Burger King
theme.  Unfortunately, I can't remember it all, but it started out

  Hold my pickle
  Eat your lettuce
  Your perversion
  Won't upset us...

I can remember a little more, but I don't feel like rot13-ing it.)
