So here is an addendum to the previous list: 10) Keep the high beam on at all times to let them know you're there. Especially important if you have a jacked-up rig whose headlights are higher off the pavement than normal. 11) Leak oil to keep the road properly lubricated. (Especially important because Oregonians always vote down gasoline taxes to repair roads; considering the climate, Oregon roads are probably in the same shape as roads back east where at least the weather can be blamed for the poor road conditions. In Oregon the only blame is not enough upkeep and maintenance to the roads.) 12) Emit smoke to keep the air hazy, thus blocking out harmful ultraviolet and nuclear radiation. (Same applies to Wood Stoves.) I got a few replies from people wondering just where I have driven before; they all thought I was serious about the rules. Just to set everyone straight, DO NOT drive like the rules posted; I guess the sarcasm didn't show through enough in my original posting. What was implied (and only one person who replied to me had correctly figured out; he suggested the above rules) is that THIS IS THE WAY OREGONIANS DRIVE!!!! Everything in my original posting I have personally experienced many a time driving in wonderful Oregon!!!! Keep those flames and letters coming, (I didn't sign my name the first time; why should I sign it now????)
