I have an IEEE-696/S-100 based Ithaca DPS-1, circa 1980, with a front
panel driven by the Z80 cpu board which is permanent bus master.  I
want to plug in a board with an 8088 or 8086 (or 186 or 286 ...)
processor for CP/M-86 and MSDOS, and I want it to coexist with the Z80,
so that they can hand off control to each other.  I don't need them to
run at the same time.

I can't chuck the Z80 board for a dual-processor unit because I want to
retain the front panel.  (It's not a REAL COMPUTER without switches and
lights!)

All the memory works in bytes or words, so an 8086 is no problem.

The implication seems to be that I need a 8086/8 S-100 CPU board which
acts as temporary bus master.  Any suggestions?
