Things like disk drive blowers and muffin fans tend to put me under.
(How do I ever get anything done?)
Maybe this stems from the time I worked in a shop that had
a 6-bay 11/45 & 2 big disks (a long time ago).
Naturally the row was about 3 feet from the wall.
The machine room was carpeted(!) and the ceiling was low,
so it was dim behind there. We kept a sleeping bag back
there and took turns knocking off.
The carpeting helped deaden the sound and I think
that made it even more relaxing.
