Wouldn't it be nice if I could install a device that would not
only indicate that there is a call, but would actually provide a
mechanism for the caller to be identified personally (not merely
their telno).  This could be extended such that the caller could
be required to announce herself verbally.

If you wished to accept the call you could answer, if not then
you can have it appear as if you were in the shower and unaware
that the phone had been activated.
