At the time, all our account names began with "CSD." to distinguish us from operations research ("OR."), electrical engineering, and so forth. So my account name was "CSD.Asente" (pronounced "CSD dot Asente"). As a result of this, we all started to call each other simply "CSD", allowing the context to disambiguate the reference. Things did get a little difficult when you'd get a message like, "CSD called while you were out; call him back ASAP." One person went by her middle name, "dot." (As in "CSD dot Smith"). -paul asente
