It seems that New Order does not mention any of their personnel on any
of their albums, but I heard from a friend that they were formed in
1981 or late 1980 by the surviving members of Joy Division after their
lead singer (Ian Curtis was his name, I think) committed suicide.
I would be grateful if anybody could confirm or deny this claim, or
provide more information.  I haven't heard any Joy Division, but I've
heard that their music is very depressing and nowhere near as upbeat
as most of New Order's stuff.
