Re: doing readnews -x -n net.unix-wizards -t "foo"

On our system this takes so much time it is painful.  It is much faster
to egrep the net.unix-wizards directory for the desired string.  This is
probably due to readnews doing 4000 stat operations before finding an
existing article!
