Passage through dust;
winding branches wrap tendrils around sturdy small ankles
stepping evenly through the brake.
Huge eyes peer wonderingly out from under raised eyelids;
tiny hands finger fair hair grubbily.
Emerging; smudge-faced, bright-eyed,
laughing.
