A colleague of mine at the labs was returning from a conference in San Francisco recently and was accosted in the Denver airport. They tried to sell him some obscene bumper stickers about Jane Fonda and when he objected, they started shouting things like "Oh, you just got in from San Francisco. You must be one of them Faggots!" and so on... When he told this story, other people claimed to have had similar experiences. My office mate use to have a full beard, and while walking through an airport, these people tried to get his attention. He just ignored them and walked by, prompting them to begin calling him a "hippie" (where have these guys been for the last 15 years!) and making various rude comments. I cannot believe the power companies are behind this negative publicity. Someone recently mentioned they might be connected with a radical right organization serving Lyndon LaRouche. By the way, I don't really want to argue about Nuclear Power. I am not anti-nuke.
