Message-ID: <1272@tekig1.UUCP> Date: Fri, 26-Aug-83 02:07:31 EDT Article-I.D.: tekig1.1272 Posted: Fri Aug 26 02:07:31 1983 Date-Received: Sat, 20-Aug-83 16:26:32 EDT Organization: Tektronix, Beaverton OR Lines: 22 I live in Oregon -- in the rainy part of the state -- in a basement apartment. Needless to say, it's damp. Some of my things have gotten moldy. I don't want that to happen to my (thousands of) slides! Can anyone suggest a good way to keep my slides dry? I store them in metal bulk-storage files (about 18" wide x 8" deep) that hold 800 loose slides. * Do those "air-drying crystals" from the hardware stores damage/fade film? * Anyone seen large, air-tight containers -- that don't cost *too* much -- that'd hold 8 or 10 of my slide files? * I think Kodak recommends a relative humidity around 30 or 40%. Any experience with long-term storage in air that's dryer than that? Thanks... --Jerry Peek D.S. 39-285; Tektronix, Inc.; P.O.
