It has been said that the Bible was divided into verses by a drunk monk who
was undertaking a long journey on a donkey.  Every time he hiccuped, he
started a new verse; every time he fell off the donkey, he started a new
chapter.  (Considering some of the illogical verse divisions, most notably
between Galatians 5:22 and :23, this isn't that hard to believe....)
