He went 180 degrees farther right while becoming more interested in sex and libertarianism. I found I no longer liked them. I tend to be a pervert but his sexual tastes were too much for me. I lean to the left - common in Europe, occasionally seen in Canada and unheard of in the USA - and he just went too far the other way for me. Stranger in a Strange Land had its moments however.
