Lines: 26 >From an article by uiucuxc!pking: it sounds like a good idea in theory, but how does it work in practice-- do the ladies actually call????? how come there aren't any like you in central illinois??? or have i just missed them----- I have been calling guys up since I was 18. I must admit, I only did it when I absolutely had to (when they were soooooooo shy that I would be a senior citizen by the time they picked up the phone to call me or any other woman.) Yes, women get nervous asking men out, too. It isn't any easier for us. Luckily, I have never had a guy say "no". Well, perhaps that wasn't all luck-- I never called anyone that I wasn't pretty sure was already interested. My sister is currently pursuing a young man who has (so I hear) never gone out on a date before. On my advice, she is moving very sloooowwwwwwlllly. She is using every opportunity to get together with him in situations where they can just get together and talk, but still not really be on a "date". He has been quite receptive to this. And that's the way it is out here in Illinois.... Sarah
