What is the difference whether those two people were of the same/different sexual-persuasions/religions/colors/nationalities/ wore-matching-bobby-socks-and-used-identical-Captain-Crunch-Decoder- Periscopes-at-the-movie/ballgame? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! What is the difference between a) MACHOMAN (big 'M' on the guy's largest medallion on his hairy, 3/4 exposed chest) telling the girl that he'd "love to see you drunk, baby" (leer, leer!!) & b) MACHOGAY (male or female doing the same thing to a person of the same sex; same line and everything)? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! So.... a) If you are going to cut down gays on a religious basis, nobody but religious people and gays give a damn, so why bother? b) If you are going to cut down gays on any other basis, realize that you are getting into the VERY dangerous area of judging an entire class of people with one verdict ("All niggers are lazy"), that kind of crap. c) If you are going to praise/defend gays, remember that not all gays are perfect, either. The phrase "you just don't understand our lifestyle" is starting to wear thin in an increasingly enlightened society; gay poison ivy makes you itch just as bad as the straight stuff. In short, folks: Why not let people do what they want to do as long as they are not hurting you or anybody else? I am not condoning gays/straights/klansmen/nuns/salesmen/hare-krishnas harrassing anyone; I am simply saying that you should judge a person by his/her actions. Just because someone approaches you with a suggestion to do ANYTHING does not mean that you should lump them into some predefined category. Just say "yes", "no", "maybe", "later", or "hmmmm....tell me more". I would give the standard "I'm not gay, but some of my best friends are gay" disclaimer here; but it just don't make a whole lot of difference, now do it? The previous article was a public service announcement from me, and yes, I am implying non-judgemental treatment as well for that most offensive of groups, * LAWYERS!! * :-) Flames are graciously welcomed; I need a good laugh, -- The MAD Programmer -- 919-228-3814 (Cornet 291) alias: Curtis Jackson ...![ floyd sb1 mhuxv ]!burl!rcj
