I was born and raised in the Electric City (Schenectady, New York; so named
because it is home to General Electric), was persuaded to pursue a technical
major at Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, New York (up in the
boonies), then got a job at Bell Laboratories (make that American Bell, Inc/
ED&D, no AT&T Information Systems/ED&D, NO!! AT&T Information Systems
Laboratories.  whew!!!!) in Lincroft, New Jersey.  They sent me to get
my MS at USC in Los Angeles and now I'm back in Joisey (the armpit of
America) and missing the palm trees, freeways, and sunshine; but not the
smog.
