Now that it looks like the two East Division races are going to be
free-for-alls, it's about time for that good ol' madness to set in.

An example, from Roger Angell's "Late Innings", in Philadelphia in
1980:

   "... a first-things-first, early-autumn headline from a newspaper
in Philadelphia, just when it was beginning to be noticed that this
might be a different kind of year down there after all:  'PHILLIES
FAN WINS NOBEL PRIZE.'"
