(near san jose)(havent been there myself) - sausilito and the rest of marin county (just over the golden gate bridge) - mt tamalpais (marin) - mendacino (not too far north of san francisco)(quaint artistic town) - redwood forest north of marin (i love trees) - monterey area (if you have the time, south of san jose)(a great area) - san simeon/hearst castle (if you have the time, south of monterey)(mind- boogling! truly! ) - oakland lds temple (!) - bezerekly - bart (bay area rapid transit)(to help you get around) - rosecrutions(?) (near san jose) - winchester mystery house (san jose)(a must see!!!!!) - good view of the sf airport from san bruno - san mateo bridge (starts off like a regular bridge then drops to water level for the majority of its 7mile length. strange feeling) - dont forget the dumbarton and bay bridges - i think theres a winery in los altos, or some place near there - there is a shopping center in san jose, i think its called eastridge (or something like that), that is the biggest shopping center and one of the most unusually designed ones i have ever seen - roseville flea market (near san jose)(has an auction, fresh produce, recyled section, and new item section) - restaurants to numerous to name. best bet is to buy one of the guide books for the area that can be found in any bookstore. - palo alto has the darndest paintings on the sides of some of its buildings. things like a woman walking her duck, two catburglers trying to escape from a building. all of the paintings (dont know how many, at least a dozen) are painted so realistically you'll be doing a lot of double takes. - palo alto book service (they handle all of the ayn rand books, including compilations of the objectivist newsletter and the ayn rand newsletter. there is also 3 cassettes of ayn rands lectures available. i just have one question - why did i leave there? have fun! helen katz beesvax/katz slc.ut
