  Please bear with me, this is my first time submitting
anything on the net.
  Starblazers is an imported Japanese animation that was
over there as Space Cruiser Yamato.
 It was extremely popular over there and spawned many
movies and ran for five seasons during prime time.
 Over here, the first two seasons were translated (and
editted to take out all those nasty shots of characters
being killed, thus making the show quite confusing)
 The first season dealt with earth being attacked by an enemy
race called Gamilons .
 The Gamilons were blowing to h*ll the earth with their dreaded
Planet Bombs that were destroying earth's ecosystem.
 Earth's last hope was to go to a far away planet caled Iskandar
where Queen Starsha has promised earth a machine that would
remove the deadly radiation from the bombs.
 Therefore an old eath battleship was rebuilt (the Yamato) and
sent out to Iskandar.

 The second season was about another enemy empire that again wanted
the earth.
 This new enemy was called the Comet Empire.
(over in Japan, the second season was based on a movie where at the
end, nearly EVERYONE dies. This really p*ssed of the fans and at the
opening night of the movie, when an executive from the studio was
discovered in the theater, the fans lynched him. *really*)

 It is rumored that the people who brought over the first 
two seasons are working on the translation of the third.

	I have seen the original Japanese versions of all of 
the first thru third seasons, various movies and the FINAL
YAMATO movie that was in Japan resently.
	I have also seen many other Japanese animations and
can safely say that they were not meant for little kids.
(	Ask any Japansese animation fan about the movie
TERRA HEI (or something like that, it means Towards Terra , and yes
I did see it, its better...))

	The creator of Space Cruiser Yamato had done many
animations, some of which are Danguard A (not Ace, A) ;
Captain Harlock ; Galaxy Express 999 ; My Youth in Archadia ;
Queen Millenium ; etc.

P.P.S.

	The REALLY DUMB show that was seen over here called
Battle of the Planets (ARGH) was taken from a ONE HOUR long
show called Kajaku Ninjatai Gatchaman ( Science NINJA team Gatchaman)
and was one of THE MOST BLOODY shows ever produced in Japan, ever.
	eg.
	Professer Nambu(Anderson over here) sitting at desk. An
assasination squad bursts into room, Nambu jumps from desk , throws
pen.
	Pen rebounds of two walls and into eye of one assasin ,
reaches into pocket and pulls out some loose coins , throws at
others, bang no more assasins.
