I have a problem with running a terminal at 1200 baud
over an ordinary home phone line.  At times, the keyboard
loses control over the screen, which fills with capital U's.
UUUUU, picture it as the march of the Umber Hulks.

I understand that this is caused by the modem on the VAX
going into test mode, and that a means of disabling this
was discussed on the net some months back.  Would someone
please send a copy of the solution to the net or to
me?
