     By using IT, you are objectifying people, which there is
     certainly too much of in the computer-hacker community
     (things like, so-and-so is broken, etc.).  I don't like that.

We don't think that it objectifies people to have the third person
plural personal pronoun the same as the impersonal pronoun -- why
should we mind then for singular case?  Replace "he" and "she" with
"it" today!
