I have two brothers who never found it that much of a strain to close
both seat and lid, though they didn't seem to pick up much else in
the way of courtesy. (Of course, it also kept the cat out if the lid
was closed...) And it seems like men occasionally use the seat, too.
So why not close up the gaping hole altogether when it's not in use?
