This newsgroup is a way to reach all System Administrators on UNIX
machines anywhere.  (Of course, it only reaches SA's of machines on
Usenet, plus perhaps a few SA's with guest logins on Usenet machines.
But it's the best we can do.)

It's intended as a low volume newsgroup containing important things
that all SA's worldwide need to know about.  For example, if a serious
security problem in UNIX is discovered, and a fix is known, the fix
could be posted here to make sure as many machines get fixed as possible.
