Lines: 43 Because there seems to be a legitimate third group of people who are interested in audio*, I will submit mind & body to task and say that I have been most impressed with Monster Cable. Having been involved in "Audio Delirium Madness" for almost twenty years I guess I feel qualified in saying that it did most definately improve the sound. I will go further and say that in the 4 or 5 cases where I have turned my friends on to Monster Cable I have always heard an improvement in their systems. In fairness, though, I have also heard testimony from other people, whose word I have no reason to doubt, say that they have tried it and hear no improvement. I have no explanation for this except that the overall quality of their rgear was not too high. If you've got a system consisting of a cheapy receiver, cheapy speakers, and a cheapy cartridge please don't expect the subtle change brought about by the better cables to be noticed. Anyway, if you've got a reasonibly good system you may expect an easily discernable improvement in the bass response of your speaker system. Don't listen for an increase of bass output so much as a tightness and better definition of the bass notes. At 80 cents a foot its worth the money. Stay away from the gold-plated connectors, though, (if you can), they are not worth the money. * The three groups associated with Net.Audio: 1.Unthinking Audiophiles (characterised by the willingness to throw away huge amounts of money for poor-performing units in the hope of obtaining some bizarre status) 2."Hirsch-Heads" (a group of "audio-agnostics" who walk around with the Holy Spec Sheet pressed to their foreheads chanting "This Unit (or any unit whose manufacturer is willing to advertise in my magazine) Would Make An Excellent Addition To Any System". 3.Audio Neophyte (who....."just got outa school"....."wants to be cool"..... ..."and not play da fool".
