It is a small (1900 feet) grass strip very close to the beach. I don't know if there is a problem with camping under your wing (check with the Oregon Dept. of Transportation, Aeronautics Division), but there is a regular state campground within walking distance of the strip. I believe that the airport is only open part of the year so you best also check part 2 of the AIM. My Flight Guide has the following remarks on Wakonda Beach State at Waldport Oregon: 40'; 3 South of town; Unattended; Prior Permission Only; Soft/wet; power lines north; Runways 16/34-1900ft. I think the "Prior Permission Only" has to do with the restricted number of days that the field is open. I suspect that the "grass" turns to something closer to a swamp in the winter. I hope you have brushed up on your short/soft field takeoff and landings. Dan Park {hp-pcd,teklabs}!orstcs!dan
