My only serious head injury came while weraring a Skid Lid, which I wore since it was cool, light and (maybe ) better than nothing. The accident I had required a helmet to absorb impact (falling after hitting a stationary object), the Skdid Lid is designed to protcect from abrasion only. I highly recommend a h{rd ard helmet which has ridgiigid foram which will take some impact and protect your brain (even though your brain ins covered by a skull bone it still can be injured by sudden movements).
