  I would like to run my terminal at home to the computer at work
faster than 1200 baud.  Terminal and modem are on the same 
switching office, and about 3 physical miles apart.
  I keep seeing these nifty line drivers that can run 9600 baud
for a few miles conforming to some Bell 43401mumble spec.  Are
these what I want?
  Unfortunately, Pacific Telephone has resisted repeated attempts
by me to bring them business.  Could someone tell me what
my options are, and what magic words I might tell the phone
company?  I  keep getting "we can install an RJ11C for $63.18 plus
$8/month unless you want touch-tone" (touch tone for a data line???)
