People joke about the extra storage space that the PDP11/44 and the RK07 cabinets have, but the real prizewinners are boxes. For instance, today we got some boxes containing DEC color monitors. A 4-inch tube of glass cleaner and a small instruction manual were in a 3 x 7.5 x 14 inch box. OK so far, right? But then this box was packed inside a 12 x 16 x 22 inch box (along with lots of padding)! This box was in fact larger than the box that the monitor itself came in! It makes you wonder how much extra you're paying for packaging... Mark
