(of which i doubt is legal). i mearly replied that while they may be able to request further i.d. i did not have to supply it. chongo /\../\ ---------- The author apparently feels that the use of credit is a legal right. That's silly. Sure you have the right to not supply further id on demand; the dealer then has the right to refuse to accept your card and insist on cash. If you don't have it, you could be arrested for theft. The gas companies are REQUIRING their dealers in certain areas to obtain additional id. The purpose of this is to cut down on use of stolen cards. So it's not the dealer's fault in any case -- if he/she doesn't get your DL number, the company could refuse to honor the charge if it comes up bad. So why have a chip on your shoulder about it?
