3 million people may be a small number, compared to all Americans, but
have you ever tried to get a lobby? 3 million people is HUGE. Most
people are apathetic. If you can get 1 percent or more of the population
you are doing fantastically well. For instance, the Ontario Libertarian
party is not doing as well, or Ontario Greenpeace, or Ontario 'ban the
bomb' 

if you can get more than 3 million Americans together to lobby for
gun control, then you have something. But I honestly doubt that you can
get them. And if you say "well, then I speak for all the rest of
Americans" you will get a very firey reception from me, as long term
readers of netnews will know.....
