Who the hell do you think you are, you blithering idiot?  Does the fact that
you drive a car mean that you own the bloody road?

Oh yeah?  And don't cyclists pay taxes, too?  If anything, the taxpaying
bicyclist causes far less damage to the roads than the taxpaying motorist;
not to talk of environmental damage, which the taxpayer's money then has to
clean up!

Arrogance I'm accustomed to, ignorance I've occasionally been guilty of
myself; but for sheer sanctimonious tripe, this takes the cake!  While we're
talking about hazards to humanity, Mr.  Prophet-of-Common-Decency, shouldn't
we mention, even in passing, the cyclists maimed, crippled, killed by
reckless drivers?

Just a few days ago, I was almost killed by some insane motorist doing at
least 60 mph on a busy campus road where the speed limit is 30: I'd clearly
hand-signalled a left turn (this was in the middle of a bright and sunny
day) and begun the turn when this a**hole screamed past, horn blaring ...  I
wanted to cut the bastard's b*lls off with a blunt spoon!  Cyclists not
consenting to obey the traffic rules indeed!
