is this guy nutzo or what?  perhaps he would like to comment again on
u.s. foreign policy after spending a winter in uzbekistan (sp??) soviet
"socialist" "republic".  i hope he writes sarcastically, otherwise he
scares me very much, mostly because if he is really as ignorant as his
article suggests, and is a member of the 'educated class' (by virtue of
writing from the university of illinois), then how can we expect the poor
illiterate bastards all over the country to understand what is going on.
i wonder what makes jordan pollack think that bombing nicaragua has anything
to do with terror or violence in hispanic ghettos in this country.

he forgets the political process.  he assumes a static system, where reagan
(or people like him) will always be in power. he does not seem to remember that
carter gave more aid to nicaragua in 2 years than all previous aid combined.
the next president might do the same.  it is totally unknown.

so i hope he reads some history very soon.
