There is a gun on the market already, which is used by some police departments, which uses electrical currents to stop a criminal. I have seen demonstrations of this device, and it seems quite effective. The general principle behind the gun is as follows: The "bullet" is actually a dart type device which is connected to the "barrel" by thin electrical wire of some sort. When the gun is fire, the "bullet" lodges in the victims body and produce a temporarily paralyzing shock. I have seen this shock topple very large (6'3" 250) individuals. The effects of the shock last long enough so that the individual can be subdued by the officers, but has no after effects what so ever. The placement of the "bullet" doesn't much matter and its effects are almost instantanious. I'm sure there would be some sort of time lapse for effectiveness with a drug gun (as has been previously mentioned). Any comments? Jeff Grunewald [seismo, mcnc, brl-bmd, allegra, we13]!rlgvax!jsg
