Lines: 26 I own a nice little .38 Smith & Wesson. I keep it loaded right by my bed. If you threaten my family or me, I will use all reasonable means to protect us; including deadly force. Given a choice of weapons for home protection, I'd much prefer a 12 guage shotgun, but they don't easily fit in my nightstand. There are a lot of people in a similar situation; this (approach) may or may not reduce personal risk. We somehow feel it does. Also, it's fun once or twice a year to go out and try to get a decent target grouping with the noisy little thing. We are a violent species and live in a violent environment (sometimes). The issue of handgun possession is a small, personal one. If one is concerned over harm to people (including oneself), there are many much larger ones than this: eg. nuclear arms, overpopulation & starvation, chemical waste disposal, auto fatalities, accidents in the home, etc. ad-nauseum. sam//(cant we talk about the merits of shotgun guage and shot size for awhile???)
