Lines: 21 Admittedly we don't live in a high crime area, but I can't believe that forced entry is a VERY RARE CRIME anywhere in the US of A. How infrequent is "very rare", anyway? Carrying a gun is probably not a good idea for most people. They would just have it taken away from them or get themselves shot before they would have the SENSE to shoot! Having a gun is not protection. Having a gun you know how to use AND knowing when to use it AND having the nerve to use it is protection! A rifle is not at all recommended for defense. Its high power is likely to send the bullet through interior walls and through non-masonary exterior walls. A pistol, on the other hand, has very limited range compared to rifles, yes, even magnum pistols. Perhaps what you intended to recommend was a shotgun. It also has limited range compared to a rifle - and with "bird shot" it has a more limited range than many pistols. It is easy to use effectively and is very intimidating - remember the old sherriffs in western movies? Recommended for most people because of they probably will never practice with whatever they buy. ihuxm!cwa Carl W. Amport
