 judo/karate black belt has little to fear; few people are
willing to devote that kind of time/effort to self defense.  On the other
hand, in 25-50 hours anyone can learn to use a handgun safely and effectively.

p.s.	Besides, try and find a studio that is willing to teach you to fight;
	*not* judo, not karate (in 8 years you'll be able to defend yourself),
	not wrestling, fighting.  It won't be easy.
