And a damn good idea, too, since you may be hundreds of miles from anything. Guns *do* have their place. A hooligans pocket is *not* one of them, but as any person who tries to live off the land will tell you, you can't do it without something to hunt with (and a bow-and-arrow just don't make it on grizzlies and moose).
